Tips From The Girls: “Importance of Keeping it Clean”

For you to live comfortably, and to keep your HVAC unit running effectively, it is important to maintain and clean your unit.

The coil of your HVAC system is one of the most important things to keep maintained and clean. A dirty evaporator coil decreases air flow, resulting in reduced heat transfer and a decrease in dehumidation. In turn, this decreases the life expectancy of the HVAC unit due to the increased heat while it runs.

Dirty coils can throw the whole cooling/heating process completely off track. Dirty coils cause compressors to run longer and work harder, leading to higher energy usage and costs. Who wants that?

Here at CRT, we offer products specifically to solve these problems. Fast Attack is for sanitation purposes of the unit [excluding any duct work). Instant Powder Kegs is for the cleaning of the coils, and comes in a powder form, making it easy to transport and apply. Also we have Clean Bond, a powerful cleaner and degreaser that picks up residual oils and other particles.

Keep your costs low and your environment healthy by keeping your coils in top condition. If you are on the go a lot, and do not think about the “out-of-sight” issues, you may find it important to have an annual energy assessment conducted to ensure that everything is running correctly. In fact, we recommend having one done before using CRT products, and then again a year later. We know you will be pleased with the results.
